TAIPEI, Nov 9 (Reuters) - HTC (2498.TW), the world's No. 4 smartphone brand, expects fourth-quarter revenue to jump more than 20 percent from the preceding three months, helped by stronger consumer demand ahead of the peak shopping season.

The company also said it expects gross margins in the fourth quarter to come in at about 32.5 percent, and for operating expenses to take up about 17 percent of its total revenue.

HTC reported worse-than-expected third-quarter results in October, underscoring intensifying competition and declining prices in the fast-growing sector. [ID:nTP206011]
