TAIPEI, Nov 10 (Reuters) - TSMC (2330.TW), the world's biggest contract chipmaker, said on Tuesday that its October sales rose 2.9 percent from a year earlier, but analysts said fourth-quarter sales could be flat from the third quarter. Unconsolidated sales at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd. (TSMC) (TSM.N) reached T$29.18 billion ($903 million) last month, up from T$28.37 billion a year earlier, the company said.

A day ago, smaller crosstown rival UMC (2303.TW) (UMC.N) said its October sales rose 18 percent from a year earlier, but the result fell from a two-year high reached in September amid slower demand for tech products. [ID:nTP301633] (US$1=T$32.3) (Reporting by Baker Li; Editing by Chris Lewis)
