Japan PM says U.S. financial conditions severe

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso said on Tuesday U.S. financial conditions were very severe, and probably their worst since the late 1920s.

He added that the most important thing was how they would affect the real economy in the United States, adding that Tokyo should be prepared for its impact on Japanese exports.

Pound picking up strength
