Budweiser renews sponsorship of Man Utd
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Anheuser-Busch Companies said on Tuesday its flagship brand, Budweiser, is extending its sponsorship of Manchester United through the 2009/2010 season.
Specific financial terms of the sponsorship agreement were not disclosed.
Budweiser has supported Manchester United since 2002. The club, which has a worldwide fan base of over 300 million, is currently defending its Premier League and Champions League titles.
The sponsorship agreement grants Budweiser rights to use the Manchester United marks and player images in advertising, point-of-sale materials and packaging in key markets in Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and South America.
Anheuser-Busch, the maker of Budweiser and Michelob beer, is being acquired for $52 billion (29.8 billion pounds) by Belgium's InBev, the maker of Stella Artois and Beck's.
