Italy cabinet passes financial crisis package

ROME (Reuters) - The Italian cabinet passed a package of measures to tackle the financial crisis on Wednesday which includes a 20 billion euro (15.8 billion pound) fund to help banks.

Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi told a news conference no banks would fail and that savers were safe.
