TIMELINE - The London and Glasgow car bombings
LONDON (Reuters) - Two doctors, Bilal Abdulla and Mohammed Asha, are on trial at Woolwich Crown Court accused of planning a series of car bomb attacks.
Abdulla, 29, and Kafeel Ahmed, 28, planned to carry out bombings in London and then attempted a suicide bomb attack on Glasgow Airport, the court has heard.
Asha was said by prosecutors to have been an important member of the cell.
Here is a timeline of events surrounding the attempted bombings, according to the prosecution.
JUNE 28
- Early afternoon Abdulla and Ahmed leave Scotland in two Mercedes cars, one green the other blue. They drive to England.
JUNE 29
- After stopping a number of times on the way down, they reach Marble Arch at 12.39 a.m. They then travel through central London via Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, and Pall Mall.
- The blue Mercedes driven by Ahmed is parked at a bus stop on Cockspur Street, at the bottom of the Haymarket at 1.18 a.m. Continued...
