Britain notifies EU executive of bank bailout plan

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Britain has notified the European Commission of its rescue package for the UK banking system, a spokesman for the European Union's executive arm said on Monday.

"The UK plan has been notified," spokesman Jonathan Todd said. He gave no further details.
