LONDON (Reuters) - Tesco is planning to introduce hundreds more discounted brands over the coming weeks, said The Independent newspaper on Tuesday without citing sources.

The retailer could not be immediately reached for comment.

German budget rival Aldi has achieved its best ever share of the UK grocery market, according to the TNS Worldpanel survey released last week.

Last month, Tesco launched 350 "Discount Brands at Tesco" products, in a bid to fight back at budget rivals that have eaten into its market share.
