SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Spain's Santander said that it would not seek cash from U.S., UK or Spanish governments, Chairman Emilio Botin said on Friday.

"We won't ask for help from governments for new capital. We don't need it," Botin said at an event in Sao Paulo. " We won't ask in the UK or the US or in Spain."

Botin said the bank had no toxic debt and because of that its capital ratio was better than that of its rivals.
