SAO PAULO (Reuters) - China's decision to approve a 4 trillion yuan (374.5 billion pound) government spending package is good news for the world economy, French Economy Minister Christine Lagarde said on Sunday.

"Of course it's good news," she said at a news conference, but added that she had not seen any details of the plan.

The plan aims to boost domestic demand and help the world's fourth-largest economy ride out the global credit crisis.
