PALM DESERT, California (Reuters) - Chrysler Chief Executive Bob Nardelli said on Thursday that he expects any U.S. government bailout of the U.S. automakers to include a government equity stake in the companies.

Nardelli also said a portion of the $25 billion (17 billion pounds) of low-interest loans already approved for automakers to make capital expenditures towards improving fuel economy should be allowed to fund a shared development centre.
