Germany arrests Internet terror suspects
BERLIN (Reuters) - German police have arrested three men suspected of distributing propaganda on websites on behalf of al Qaeda after raiding a dozen locations across Germany, the federal prosecutors office said Tuesday.
Federal police (BKA) officers arrested two suspects on Tuesday -- identified by the prosecutors office as Daniel P., 26, from Biberach and Harun Can A., 23, of Schlangen. A third man, Irfan P., 19, was already in detention for other offences.
The prosecutors in Karlsruhe said the three are suspected of spreading propaganda on behalf of al Qaeda on a German-language Internet site for the "Global Islamic Media Front."
There are five others who are also being treated as suspects, the prosecutors office said.
The BKA officers raided locations in Augsburg, Biberach, Laupheim, Bremen, Lohmar, Weiden, Schlange and Duesseldorf.
