Jim Carrey tops box office in "Yes Man"
LONDON (Reuters) - Jim Carrey's comedy "Yes Man" was the weekend's favourite with cinema-goers, earning 2.3 million pounds in its first week on release, according to data from Screen International.
Carrey plays a bank officer stuck in a personal and professional rut who must say "yes" to all ideas and requests after he attends a self-help seminar.
Walt Disney comedy "Bedtime Stories" was number two at the weekend box office with takings of 1.5 million pounds. It features Adam Sandler as a man whose bedtime stories come true in real life.
Big-budget epic "Australia," starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, opened at number three. The period romance is director Baz Luhrmann's first film since his "Moulin Rouge!" seven years ago.
Animated comedy "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" slid two places to number four, while teen vampire movie "Twilight," last week's number one, fell to fifth place.
Sci-fi remake "The Day The Earth Stood Still," starring Keanu Reeves, was down two in sixth place, one spot above Hindi thriller "Ghajini," a new entry.
Fantasy adventure "Inkheart" fell two places to eighth, seasonal comedy "Four Christmases" was down six at number nine, while animated adventure "The Tale of Despereaux" dropped five spots to tenth place.

Darling to cut GDP forecast
