*SOUTHERN ISRAEL - Israeli media have in the past few hours reported none of the air raid alerts used to signal incoming rocket or mortar fire from Gaza.
*GAZA- Residents across the Gaza Strip reported a sharp reduction in fighting after dark, with only sporadic gunfire and explosions to be heard. A Reuters journalist in the city of Gaza said it was as quiet as anytime since Israel launched a ground offensive on Saturday.
GAZA - Israeli tank shells killed 42 civilians and wounded dozens in a U.N. school in Jabalya refugee camp, Palestinian medical workers said. Israel said its forces had responded to a number of mortar shells fired from the school.
GAZA - Three Palestinians were killed in an air strike on a school in Gaza City, Palestinian medics said.
GAZA - Palestinian medical workers pulled 11 bodies from the rubble of a house east of the city of Gaza that was hit by an Israeli air strike. The dead included five children, they said.
