Six arrests at Israeli embassy demonstrations
LONDON (Reuters) - Around six people were arrested amid pro-Palestine demonstrations outside the Israeli embassy in central London, a spokeswoman for the local police said on Thursday.
The spokeswoman said it was not yet known why the arrests were made, but added that no arrests were made among the pro-Israel demonstrators at the same venue.
She said around 800 demonstrators gathered in London's Kensington High Street, in the vicinity of the Israeli embassy. Around 500 were supporting Israel, while the other 300 were in favour of Palestine, she added.
Israeli aircraft and tanks pounded the Gaza Strip again on Wednesday as the 12-day-old offensive continued.
