RBS exposure to Lyondell seen at 2.4 billion pounds

LONDON (Reuters) - Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS.L) has a total exposure to bankrupt U.S. chemicals group Lyondell Chemical Co ACCELC.UL of $3.5 billion (2.4 billion pounds), according to a report in The Independent.

In January, RBS said it did have a banking relationship with the company, but did not reveal the extent of the exposure.

A spokesman for RBS was not immediately available for comment.
