Government to unveil lending measures on Wednesday

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain will on Wednesday announce measures to try to boost lending to small and medium sized businesses, the business ministry said on Tuesday.

"We are working hard to launch the help first discussed in the pre-budget report (in November)," a spokesman for the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform said. "Discussions remain ongoing and final details are still to be confirmed."

Credit headwind

News headlines speak of recovery, but financing is still a big problem in Germany. The dearth of credit to tide firms over is frustrating policymakers, who are blaming reluctant banks and there is little agreement on how best to increase lending flows.  Full Article
