(Reuters) - Following are developments in the fighting in the Gaza Strip as of 5 p.m. Biritsh time:
GAZA - Israeli air strike killed a father and son in the Jabalya refugee camp, Palestinian medical workers said.
GAZA - Israeli tank shell killed a woman and boy in Jabalya, Palestinian medical workers said.
GAZA - Gunfights continued between Israeli troops and Hamas militants southwest of the city of Gaza, residents said.
GAZA/EGYPT BORDER - Israel carried out an air strike on smuggling tunnels that run beneath Gaza's border with Egypt, residents said.
GAZA - Four Israeli soldiers wounded seriously, possibly in a "friendly fire" incident in the Gaza Strip, army says.
DEATH TOLL - The Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza says at least 1,205 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza offensive, among them 410 children and some 5,300 have been wounded, among them 1,631 children.
Israel has lost 13 dead -- 10 soldiers, and three civilians hit by Hamas rocket fire --- since December 27 when it launched an offensive with the stated goal of halting rocket salvoes.
SOUTHERN ISRAEL - Gaza militants launched at least 14 rockets and mortar bombs into southern Israel causing no casualties. Continued...
