W.House sees Senate panel vote on Geithner Thurs

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Tuesday it expected the Senate Finance Committee to vote on Thursday on the nomination of Timothy Geithner, who is President Barack Obama's choice for Treasury Secretary.

"As I understand it, the committee, the finance committee votes Thursday on Geithner," new White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters shortly after Obama's inauguration.
