NZ win toss and elect to field v India 3rd test
WELLINGTON (Reuters) - New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori won the toss and elected to field in the third and final test at the Basin Reserve on Friday.
New Zealand recalled swing bowler Tim Southee in place of off-spinner Jeetan Patel while batsman Daniel Flynn passed a late fitness test on his injured hand and replaced Jamie How.
India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who withdrew from the second test after suffering a back injury before play began on the first day, passed a late fitness test and replaced Dinseh Karthik.
India lead the series 1-0 after winning the first test in Hamilton by 10 wickets. The second match in Napier ended in a draw.
