AUGUSTA, Georgia (Reuters) - American Kenny Perry held a one-shot lead with four holes remaining at the U.S. Masters on Sunday after surviving an exhilarating challenge by Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods in the final round.

World number two Mickelson, helped by a record-equalling outward nine of six-under-par 30, closed with a five-under 67 and Woods fired a 68 after each bogeyed the last.

Left-hander Mickelson held the clubhouse lead at nine-under 279 with playing partner Woods one stroke back alongside fellow Americans John Merrick (66) and Steve Flesch (67).

Perry, 48, bidding to become the oldest major winner, was one under for the day and 12 under overall in pursuit of his 14th PGA Tour title.

American Chad Campbell was 11 under after 14 holes while Angel Cabrera of Argentina was 10 under after 14.

While Mickelson and Woods sparked huge roars from the fans with a dazzling display of shot-making in low-scoring conditions, Perry parred the first 11 holes before ramming in a 25-footer to birdie the 12th and edge two ahead.

Campbell then trimmed his lead to one with a birdie at the par-five 13th.

For much of a glorious spring afternoon, Mickelson treated the crowds to a one-man Easter special.  Continued...
