LONDON (Reuters) - Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan is in talks to buy the rights to the Slazenger golf brand from JJB Sports (JJB.L) for about 10 million pounds said The Sunday Times.

A JJB spokesman declined to comment.

The purchase would come a month after Whelan stepped in to buy the retailer's fitness club business for 83.4 million pounds.
