RAF Tornado crashes in Scotland
LONDON (Reuters) - An RAF Tornado jet has crashed during a routine training flight in Scotland, the Ministry of Defence said on Thursday.
There were no immediate details about the plane's crew or what had caused the incident at Glen Kinglas, Argyll, near Loch Lomond.
"The circumstances are being investigated," the MoD said in a statement, adding the plane was a Tornado F3 based at RAF Leuchars in Fife.
Police and rescue services were being sent to the scene, a scenic tourist spot.
One local resident said he had seen two Tornados flying low in the area.
"We get jets flying over here on training exercises quite regularly. It's not unusual to see them and you definitely hear them," he told the BBC.
"But today they seemed to be flying much lower than normal."
