L'AQUILA, Italy (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama's national security adviser urged Chinese leaders on Friday to act with "appropriate restraint" in dealing with unrest in the Xinjiang region, a senior U.S. official said.

Gen. James Jones also told Chinese leaders that Obama wanted to continue cooperation with Beijing on the North Korean nuclear issue, the official said.
