Japan LDP not against campaigning under Aso - official
TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's ruling bloc has not voiced objections to going to the polls under Prime Minister Taro Aso's leadership, the secretary-general of the Liberal Democratic Party, Hiroyuki Hosoda, told reporters on Monday.
He also said the ruling LDP had made a preliminary decision to call a general election for August 30.
The ruling bloc suffered a big defeat in a Tokyo election on Sunday, presaging a similar loss in the national poll.
