Clarke strikes first test century in England
LONDON (Reuters) - Australia batsman Michael Clarke scored his first test century in England on Sunday on the fourth day of the second Ashes test at Lord's.
Australia, set 522 to win after England declared at their overnight total of 311 for six, were 259 for five with Clarke on 101 and Brad Haddin on 50.
* Off-spinner Graeme Swann bowled Marcus North off the inside edge of the left-hander's bat for six. 128-5.
* Michael Hussey attempted to drive Swann but the ball flew to first slip where Paul Collingwood took a smart catch. Television replays indicated Hussey's bat may have hit the ground rather than the ball. 120-4.
* Pace bowler Stuart Broad bowled Australia captain Ricky Ponting for 38 with his fourth ball after lunch. 78-3.
* Phillip Hughes was caught by Andrew Strauss at first slip off Andrew Flintoff for 17. Strauss dived forward to scoop the ball up and Rudi Koertzen gave the left-hander out without consulting the third umpire to Ponting's anger. 34-2.
* Simon Katich (6) steered the first delivery of Flintoff's second over straight to Kevin Pietersen in the gully. 17-1.
