MPs back appointment of Posen to MPC
LONDON (Reuters) - MPs backed the appointment of U.S. academic Adam Posen to the Bank of England's monetary policy committee, saying on Monday that he met the required standards of professional competence and independence.
Posen will succeed policymaker Tim Besley on the MPC in September.
