Bank's Tucker says righting imbalances carries risks

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Bank of England Executive Director Paul Tucker said on Friday there had been situations when U.S. monetary policy, in seeking to right imbalances, had created imbalances in other areas.

Tucker, speaking at a monetary policy forum organized by the business schools of the University of Chicago and Brandeis University, also said that current bank instability has carried social costs.

Pound picking up strength
