In letter, Democrats voice worry over World Bank
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate's top Democrat and three other lawmakers on Wednesday wrote to President George W. Bush expressing their concern about the leadership crisis at the World Bank.
"We are very concerned that the window of opportunity is closing fast for the United States to show leadership to resolve the crisis without undermining the bank or the U.S. leadership role," wrote Democrats Harry Reid, Patty Murray, Richard Durbin and Charles Schumer.
