White House says oil producers should raise output
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Wednesday that oil-producing countries should raise their output and domestic oil production should also be increased to help ease high energy costs.
"We would like to not only have exporting countries increase their output but we would also like here in the United States to be able to increase domestic production in environmentally friendly ways," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino told reporters.
She insisted, however, that there was no "silver bullet" or short-term solution to high energy costs.
