Intel shares rise in Frankfurt trade after results
FRANKFURT, July 15 (Reuters) - Shares in Intel Corp (INTC.O), the world's largest chipmaker, surged 8.1 percent in Frankfurt (INTC.F) on Wednesday, following the release of consensus-beating results overnight.
"The Intel-figures could give most companies from the chip sector further strength," Close Brothers Seydler wrote in a note.
The DJ STOXX European technology index .SX8P rose 2.6 percent on Wednesday, with Infineon (IFXGn.DE) up 5.2 percent, Alcatel-Lucent (ALUA.PA) up 6.1 percent and STMicroelectronics (STM.PA) up 4.7 percent.
