SAfrica seeks aircraft after Airbus termination

CAPE TOWN, Nov 5 (Reuters) - South Africa still wants strategic military air transport capability, and will consider other purchases after terminating a deal to buy eight Airbus A400M aircraft, the country's defence minister said on Thursday.

"We have as one of our priorities the acquisition of strategic military air transport capability. We have terminated the contract with Airbus but we've not terminated our quest to ensure we have the necessary capabilities. That is very clear," Defence Minister Lindiwe Sisulu told parliament's defence committee.
