Citi hires Morgan Stanley's James von Moltke

NEW YORK, June 3 (Reuters) - Citigroup Inc (C.N: Quote, Profile, Research) has hired Morgan Stanley banker James von Moltke to head its corporate mergers group in New York, two people familiar with the matter said.

von Moltke will be in charge of evaluating mergers and acquisitions for Citigroup, replacing Vincent Fandozzi, the people said. He will report to Chief Financial Officer Edward "Ned" Kelly.

von Moltke was a banker covering securities firms and financial technology firms at Morgan Stanley. He and Kelly worked together at what is now JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM.N: Quote, Profile, Research)
