US panel to meet April 22 on credit card bill

WASHINGTON, April 16 (Reuters) - The U.S. House Financial Services Committee is planning meet on April 22 to consider legislation aimed at curbing deceptive practices by the credit card industry, a source familiar with the panel's agenda said on Thursday.

The panel is scheduled to mark up the bill, called the Credit Cardholders' Bill of Rights, sponsored chiefly by U.S. Representative Carolyn Maloney, a New York Democrat, the source said. (Reporting by John Poirier; Editing by Tim Dobbyn)
