UBS taps Goldman's Kengeter as fixed income head
NEW YORK, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Swiss bank UBS AG (UBSN.VX: Quote, Profile, Research), rocked by more than $40 billion of credit write-downs during the past year, on Thursday said it hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) trading executive Carsten Kengeter as its new global head of fixed income, currencies and commodities trading.
Kengeter, 41, was most recently a partner and co-head of Goldman's securities division for Asia, excluding Japan, with responsibility for all fixed income markets in the region. He is expected to join UBS in "the early part" of next year, and will move from Hong Kong to London. (Reporting by Joseph A. Giannone, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
