M&S shareholders back embattled boss
LONDON (Reuters) - Marks and Spencer (MKS.L) shareholders attending the retailer's annual meeting on Wednesday showed their backing for embattled boss Stuart Rose, with more than 94 percent voting for his reappointment.
M&S, Britain's biggest clothing retailer, infuriated some investors in March by saying that Rose would combine the roles of chairman and chief executive as part of a package that will see him stay at the company until 2011.
M&S said the indicative vote also showed 96.7 percent had backed its report and accounts and 87 percent voted to approve its remuneration report.
