LONDON (Reuters) - Gas producer BG Group (BG.L) said net profits, excluding one-off items, beat forecasts to rise 97 percent to 807 million pounds in the second quarter thanks to high gas prices.
A Reuters poll of 7 analysts gave an average forecast of 783 million pounds for BG's second quarter net profits, excluding one-offs.
BG's net profit rose 59 percent to 747 million pounds.
