Randgold net profit up 42 percent
LONDON (Reuters) - African miner Randgold Resources (RRS.L) said first-quarter net profit rose 42 percent on the year and 25 percent on the previous quarter as gold prices hit record levels.
Net profit increased to $18.2 million (9.2 million pounds) from $14.5 million the previous quarter while attributable production fell 13 percent to 103,649 ounces, it said in a statement on Tuesday.
