Sage sees potential for better N America growth
LONDON (Reuters) - The country's biggest software firm Sage Group (SGE.L) said on Thursday that it saw the potential for better organic growth in its North American business and that competition was not getting tougher there.
Earlier on Thursday, Sage said the chief executive and finance director of its North American business were leaving with immediate effect, after the division did not deliver the expected recovery in organic growth in the second half of its financial year.
"We had expected better growth in the second half of the year. We do feel...going forward that there is potential for better organic growth in this region," Finance Director Paul Harrison told reporters.
"The competitive landscape remains very much what it has been over the past few years...We don't believe that accounts for any of our growth issues," Chief Executive Paul Walker added on a conference call.
