LONDON (Reuters) - Lloyds TSB (LLOY.L) said its respected head of UK retail banking, Terri Dial, is leaving the bank.

It did not say where Dial was going, but Friday's Wall Street Journal said U.S. bank Citigroup (C.N) planned to hire Dial to take over its flagging U.S. consumer business.

Dial, widely credited with leading a revival in Lloyds' retail banking, will stay with the bank "to ensure an orderly transition of her duties," Lloyds said. It had started a global search to find a suitable replacement.
