WELLINGTON, May 27 (Reuters) - Australian based ANZ Banking Group (ANZ.NZ) (ANZ.AX) was placed on trading halt on Wednesday at its own request, the NZ stock exchange said.
It said the halt would stay in place pending a material announcement.
Shares in the company closed on Tuesday at A$15.57.
