WASHINGTON, June 16 (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives cleared a $106 billion measure to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on Tuesday despite Republican protests about U.S. credit lines for the International Monetary Fund.

In a close vote, the Democratic-led chamber approved the bill 226-202. It now goes to the Senate for consideration. If approved there, it would hand another victory to President Barack Obama as he pursues his plan to wind down the Iraq war and ramp up operations in Afghanistan.

The bill also includes authorization for $108 billion in credit lines for the IMF from the United States, fulfilling Obama's pledge to help developing countries weather the economic storm that has swept the globe. (Reporting by Jeremy Pelofsky, editing by Patricia Zengerle)
