NEW YORK (Reuters) - Grupo Modelo, the leading Mexican brewer that is half-owned by Anheuser-Busch Cos Inc, said on Monday that it has certain consent rights with respect to the takeover of Anheuser by InBev NV and is reserving them.

"We are confident that our agreement ... gives us the right to decide whether or not to consent to the potential acquisition of Anheuser-Busch by InBev," the maker of Corona beer said in a statement.

"We have a great deal of respect for InBev and look forward to continuing our discussions with them and hope to find a resolution that meets the needs of both companies and their stakeholders," it added.
