Judge dismisses two lawsuits against Wyeth
NEW YORK, July 14 (Reuters) - A New Jersey judge dismissed two product liability lawsuits against Wyeth WYE.N involving its hormone replacement treatments, the drugmaker said on Monday.
New Jersey Superior Court Judge Jamie Happas granted the company's motion for summary judgments, ruling that the plaintiffs failed to provide the specific type of evidence needed to show that the FDA-approved labeling on the medicines did not adequately signal risks associated with the treatments.
The plaintiffs in both cases claimed that their breast cancer was caused by their use of Wyeth's Prempro and Premarin hormone therapy products.
The suits had been set to go to trial later this year. (Reporting by Bill Berkrot; editing by John Wallace)
