Shoe Pavilion says files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

NEW YORK, July 16 (Reuters) - Shoe retailer Shoe Pavilion Inc SHOE.O said on Wednesday that it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The company made the disclosure in a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company said both it and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shoe Pavilion Corp, voluntarily filed for bankruptcy protection on July 15. (Reporting by Nicole Maestri, editing by Phil Berlowitz)
