DISH Network posts higher quarterly profit
NEW YORK, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Satellite television operator DISH Network Corp (DISH.O) posted a higher second-quarter profit on Monday and reported a drop in subscribers.
Net income rose to $336 million, or 75 cents per basic share, from $224 million, or 50 cents per basic share, a year earlier.
Revenue increased 5.6 percent to $2.91 billion.
DISH Network, formerly known as EchoStar Corp, lost about 25,000 net subscribers during the quarter, ending the period with some 13.79 million. (Reporting by Franklin Paul; Editing by Lisa Von Ahn)
