Jan 9 (Reuters) - Oil and gas driller Parker Drilling Co (PKD.N) said a subsidiary paid $26 million in income taxes to Kazakhstan in December 2007 and will receive a foreign tax credit for this payment.

The Kazakhstan branch of the company's unit has filed an appeal requesting a reduction in the interest, Parker Drilling said in a statement.

Parker said it partially funded the payment by borrowing $20 million under its revolving credit facility, it said. (Reporting by Manish Gupta in Bangalore; Editing by Gopakumar Warrier)
