Tenet to sell Broadlane stake, proceeds $155 mln

LOS ANGELES, June 23 (Reuters) - Hospital operator Tenet Healthcare Corp (THC.N) said on Monday it will sell its interest in health care services company Broadlane Inc to TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P. for proceeds of about $155 million.

Tenet said 10 percent of the proceeds will be held in escrow and distributed over about six years. The company expects to record a gain on the transaction, but said it will be substantially offset for tax purposes by existing net operating losses.

The transaction, subject to certain conditions, is expected to close in the third quarter of 2008. (Reporting by Deena Beasley; Editing by Andre Grenon)
