House leader: healthcare could pass by August

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said on Tuesday congressional panels would debate healthcare overhaul plans this week and the full House of Representatives could vote on the legislation by next month.

Hoyer, who is the second-ranking House Democrat, told reporters that passing a sweeping overhaul measure by August "can be done."
