Intel's second-quarter revenue misses expectations

SAN FRANCISCO, July 17 (Reuters) - Intel Corp posted second-quarter revenue of $12.8 billion and net earnings of $2.0 billion, or 39 cents a share, as the personal computer industry suffers from slumping sales and a shift toward tablets and smartphones.

Analysts had expected $12.896 billion in revenue for the quarter, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
